With the CHAMELEON®-Cap, KISICO has developed an innovative, transparent desiccant closure that enables reliable moisture control without opening the packaging. Since moisture is one of the main causes of spoilage and quality loss in hygroscopic goods such as powders, tablets, or dietary supplements, this system offers a decisive safety advantage. Thanks to this integrated solution, manufacturers, distributors, and end consumers can immediately assess whether product integrity has been maintained within the specified moisture range.
Increased Efficiency and Resource Conservation
The closure features a separate, hermetically sealed chamber filled with an active indicator desiccant. Thanks to the transparent housing design, the desiccant’s saturation level can be visually checked without breaking the tamper-evident seal or compromising the protective atmosphere. When moisture is absorbed, an intuitive color change occurs from amber to light yellow, providing a direct and unambiguous indication of the container’s internal status.
This technological approach significantly contributes to resource efficiency by preventing the precautionary disposal of perfectly good goods based on mere assumptions. By objectively assessing the visible moisture status, the early identification of compromised batches is optimized throughout the entire distribution process. At the same time, the usability of the products within their regular shelf life is demonstrably maintained as long as the indicator confirms a dry environment.
Since the inspection takes place without physical intervention in the container, all hygiene and safety standards, as well as tamper-evidence protection, are fully maintained. This not only ensures product quality but also optimizes disposal rates and cost-effectiveness throughout the entire supply chain.
