Award-winning R&D

Research and development, along with world-class production, are the crucial pillars on which KISICO´s success is built. Our team of trained engineers is looking forward to developing and implementing solutions that meet your product and design requirements.

As experienced product designers, we develop well thought-out concepts – from the first sketch to 3D views and models – all the way to series production. Thanks to our competence in the selection of materials, we can reliably supply you with the optimal solution, be it for high-temperature applications up to over 300°C or for the most aggressive media. We also work with well-known plastic and glass bottle manufacturers. This way you can conveniently choose to receive your complete packaging from one source, and KISICO checks for conformity and quality of the entire packaging solution. Numerous worldwide patents, awards, certifications, and the continuous training of our employees have propelled us into an industry-leading position.

KISICO´s research innovation has been recognized not only by our clients but by apex industry bodies such as the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and CPhI. Our caps have been nominated for several years as finalists for the CPhI Awards, and our NFCCap was the winner of the prestigious WPO Award in 2018. The “Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft“, which promotes the sciences in Germany, has recognized our contributions to innovation through research for many years as well.

Sustainability

At KISICO, all our business decisions are vetted for sustainability and ecological impact.

Our production is partially powered by the energy generated from solar panels on the roof of our manufacturing facility. Furthermore, our processes are certified for continuous improvement of their energy efficiency. We also use the heat generated during production to heat our buildings, and make use of intelligent outdoor lighting to reduce light pollution. In addition, all our business activities are monitored and optimized for noise reduction.

We are also a member of the Zero Pellet Loss initiative launched by the Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e.V.

History

With the development of Bakelite in the early 20th century, the founding fathers of KISICO decided to produce bottle closures from this new material. These innovative plastic closures gradually replaced tin caps. The year 1947 marks the founding of the company KISICO in its present form. Since then, our development has never deviated from the demands the industry places on state-of-the-art technology. With many customers in the Rhine-Main area, our headquarters moved from Schleusingen (Thuringia) to Oestrich-Winkel to be closer to them and be able to anticipate their needs better.

In 2019, the building of a brand-new class 8 clean room facility marked a new phase in our drive to attain ever higher standards in our production processes. In its third generation as a family-owned business, KISICO is managed by Bettina and Dr. Jan Kirchner. Over 75 years of process experience, sophisticated technology and future-oriented ideas sets apart KISICO as one of Germany’s packaging suppliers of note.
